Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Previous experience operating radiology/imaging equipment, preferably in a hospital or high-volume clinical setting
- Proficiency with bone mineral density (BMD) scanning and related protocols
- Strong patient care skills, including clear communication and a reassuring bedside manner
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with maintaining lab equipment and patient records
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical teams and external partners
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures; explain processes and respond to questions
- Perform BMD scans and interpret results to select appropriate tests and recommend alternative scan sites as needed
- Maintain laboratory operations, including routine upkeep of densitometer, computer systems, and supplies
- Coordinate with pharmaceutical companies regarding protocols and rigorous recordkeeping
- Perform scans with thorough knowledge, recognizing when deviations from standard protocols are necessary for patient safety
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the imaging lab
