An opportunity is available for an experienced Radiology Technologist to provide skilled imaging support in a Level 1 Trauma Center located just 45 minutes from Chicago. This contract role offers a dynamic work environment where advanced radiology techniques are utilized in a high-acuity setting, supporting a comprehensive range of patient needs.

Location
Situated in Joliet, IL, this facility is a well-equipped healthcare center with 749 beds, Magnet designation, and a comprehensive stroke program. The outpatient and inpatient radiology services include 4 outpatient rooms and 5 inpatient rooms, operating with advanced imaging technology in a busy urban healthcare hub.

Responsibilities

• Perform general X-ray imaging, including portable and non-portable exams, with a focus on trauma, GI, and surgical cases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary trauma teams in a Level 1 trauma environment
• Utilize EPIC charting system to document and manage patient records accurately
• Operate equipment such as GE X-ray rooms, Siemens fluoroscopy units, GE C-Arms, and Fuji portable imaging devices
• Participate in weekend rotations and occasional call schedules to ensure continuous patient imaging services
• Complete a unit orientation to understand workflows and patient care protocols

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, preferably with trauma and surgical imaging exposure
• Certification in BLS, ARRT, and IEMA required
• Proficient in general X-ray skillset, with specialties in gastrointestinal imaging and trauma-related radiography
• Experience working with a high patient ratio, providing focused, one-on-one imaging services
• Prior experience using EPIC and major radiology equipment is highly advantageous
• First-time travel assignments are not available for candidates without prior X-ray tech experience

This contract requires availability for a 6-week coverage period, with alternating weekend shifts and flexibility for approved time-off requests.
