Job Description
An opportunity is available for an experienced Radiology Technologist with expertise in Imaging, preferably with interventional radiology experience, to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This contract position is based in Fairport, NY, and offers the chance to develop skills in neuro IR, with training provided for technologists transitioning from other modalities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Consistently produce radiologic images of diagnostic quality by selecting appropriate exposure factors and positioning patients accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with department members to resolve issues promptly.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, respect, and accountability when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Administer oral contrast as needed and prepare patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
- Assist Radiologists during procedures, operating all x-ray equipment including CR and DR systems.
- Report equipment malfunctions and contribute to departmental efficiency between procedures.
- Maintain medication security and follow hospital policies related to patient care.
- Provide competent healthcare services and interpersonal communication across all age groups.
- Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS proficiently.
- Participate in hospital performance improvement projects and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Respond to technical telephone inquiries from physicians and hospital staff professionally.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State radiologic technologist license.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preference given to candidates with interventional radiology experience.
