Job Description
A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Radiologic Technologist skilled in computerized tomography (CT) to perform radiological procedures under general supervision. This contract role, based in Dearborn, MI, involves both CT and general diagnostic radiology examinations, supporting patient diagnosis with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain examination procedures clearly and prepare patients for CT scans.
- Review clinical data and medical history to determine appropriate imaging techniques.
- Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, ensuring supplies and linens are adequately stocked.
- Perform CT scans by analyzing patient anatomy, adjusting equipment settings manually to capture quality diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors; monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide immediate assistance when necessary.
- Assist radiologists during complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Adhere to radiation protection principles including patient shielding and use of ALARA techniques.
- Manage imaging records within PACS and RIS systems, ensuring accurate image indexing, quality control, and documentation.
- Promote team excellence through effective communication, responsiveness, and respect for diversity.
Desired Experience:
- Proven experience performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures.
- Familiarity with intravenous contrast administration and patient monitoring.
- Skilled in operating radiologic equipment and maintaining procedural protocols.
- Competent in PACS and RIS systems for image processing and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team setting.
