Job Description

This role involves performing a variety of radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable imaging procedures within a diagnostic radiology department, including nursing units, outpatient areas, and surgery departments. The position requires a versatile radiology technologist who can operate efficiently across different diagnostic tasks while ensuring patient and staff safety from unnecessary radiation exposure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Taking radiographs according to physician orders accurately and efficiently
  • Managing front desk operations and utilizing computer systems to schedule exams, look up patient information, and report equipment issues
  • Coordinating patient transportation through centralized programs
  • Communicating effectively with other departments and assisting with on-call imaging staff coordination
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions promptly to clinical engineering and management
  • Supporting Radiologic Technologist students and participating in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, supply ordering, staff scheduling, and audits
  • Maintaining a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality in accessing patient records during imaging operations

Qualifications or Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Radiology Technologist, proficient in routine radiographs, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging
  • Solid understanding of radiation safety protocols and regulatory compliance (including ODH and Joint Commission standards)
  • Computer literacy for scheduling, reporting, and patient record management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
