An opportunity is available for an experienced Radiologic Technologist specializing in diagnostic imaging. This contract position is located in Belvidere, IL, offering a dynamic healthcare environment where advanced imaging techniques and patient care converge.
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in radiography ARRT Radiography registration required IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation mandatory for Illinois work Approved CPR or BLS certification obtained within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures including portable, c-arm, and fluoroscopic exams Evaluate patient clinical history to verify appropriate orders and necessary lab values, consulting radiologists as needed Deliver patient education and ensure patient comfort during imaging procedures Operate and adjust imaging equipment accurately to capture high-quality diagnostic images Maintain patient safety and radiation protection by adhering to ALARA principles and established protocols Document procedure details thoroughly within the electronic medical record system, including medication reconciliation Assist radiologists during fluoroscopic and specialized exams, and prepare and administer contrast media Provide training and instruction to radiography students and new technologists Utilize radiology information systems and PACS for image processing and data management Coordinate scheduling efforts to optimize patient and staff flow
