Perform advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures both within the department and through mobile units, contributing to accurate diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes in a dynamic healthcare environment. Utilize your expertise in nuclear medicine technology to support patient care by conducting quality imaging exams, including PET/CT attenuation correction, while adhering to safety protocols and departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with precision under supervision.
- Operate gamma cameras and ancillary radiation safety equipment safely and effectively.
- Manage radioactive materials, doses, and flood sources following regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in teaching and research initiatives to advance nuclear medicine practices.
- Adapt imaging techniques to meet the age-specific needs of patients.
- Provide services in both a clinical department setting and via mobile imaging units.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduate from an accredited nuclear medicine program.
- Current certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within three months of hire).
- Proficient in the use of computer systems interfaced with gamma cameras.
- Strong knowledge of radioactive materials, patient monitoring, and radiation safety equipment.
- Experience working with PET imaging and comfort handling patients across all age groups.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Willingness to work both on-site and in mobile settings as required.
