Job Description
A Nuclear Medicine Technologist is needed for a travel opportunity based in Derry, NH. This role involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients and utilizing advanced imaging equipment such as SPECT/CT scanners to assist in diagnosing various conditions. The technologist will produce detailed, computer-generated images of multiple body areas including the brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver. A commitment to patient safety and comfort, as well as precise record-keeping, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals by injection, oral intake, or inhalation.
- Explain procedures to patients and position them appropriately for scans.
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment with strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Process and review images for physician interpretation.
- Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceutical usage.
- Stay current with advancements and innovations in nuclear medicine.
- Uphold organizational mission and values in clinical practice.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed and certified in Nuclear Medicine in the state of New Hampshire.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Minimum of 1-year relevant experience preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
- Strong technical skills with familiarity in radiology information systems like Radiant Epic Access.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures minimizing radiation exposure.
Physical & Work Conditions:
- Able to perform duties involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching.
- Frequently lift or carry up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to handle responsibilities requiring focus and managing stress.
Additional Information:
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during a 13-week contract.
- This assignment is a travel opportunity with flexible relocation to Derry, NH.
