Job Description

This travel position offers an opportunity for a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures both in-department and via mobile services. Your expertise will support accurate imaging essential for patient diagnosis and treatment, while contributing to teaching and research initiatives aligned with the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute nuclear medicine procedures under supervision to ensure precise imaging information.
  • Operate and maintain gamma cameras, including mobile units for attenuation correction related to PET/CT.
  • Manage radioactive materials, doses, and quality control flood sources following safety protocols.
  • Monitor patients during procedures using specialized patient and radiation safety equipment.
  • Utilize departmental resources efficiently to deliver timely and accurate nuclear medicine exams.
  • Address age-specific patient care requirements professionally.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nuclear medicine program required.
  • Current certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers interfaced with gamma cameras.
  • Strong familiarity with radioactive materials, dosing, and radiation safety protocols.
  • Experience in patient monitoring and ancillary equipment handling.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely handle radioactive materials.
  • Willingness to work both in departmental and mobile nuclear medicine settings.
  • Prior clinical experience and PET imaging knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills valued.
