Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist (ARRT(MR) or equivalent)
  • Valid, unencumbered state licensure as required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing MRI scans and working with advanced imaging equipment
  • At least one year of recent MRI experience in an acute care or hospital setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and collaboration with clinical staff
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to safety, privacy, and quality standards
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and emergency MRI scans with efficiency and precision according to physician orders
  • Prepare and position patients while explaining procedures to promote comfort and cooperation
  • Operate MRI equipment and adjust protocols as necessary to obtain optimal images
  • Ensure compliance with all radiation safety, infection control, and privacy regulations
  • Accurately document imaging procedures, patient information, and technical factors
  • Assess images for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists regarding findings
  • Maintain and troubleshoot MRI equipment, reporting any malfunctions or anomalies promptly
