This contract opportunity focuses on performing both screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while supporting a collaborative approach within the imaging department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards, ensuring patient comfort, and promoting a positive environment throughout each exam.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time schedule
Required Qualifications:
- ARRT registration in Radiography and Mammography
- Active California Radiologic Technologist License
- Active California Mammographic Technologist License
- Active California Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist License
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
- California Venipuncture Certificate (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
- At least 5 years of mammography technologist experience
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures
- Ensure positioning accuracy, optimal image quality, and adherence to safety protocols
- Review orders and coordinate imaging with radiologists and other modalities
- Retrieve, compare, and track prior mammography images for interpretations
- Provide thorough patient education about breast health and self-exams
- Offer technical support for breast imaging, quality control, and equipment operation
- Support Bone Density, CT, General X-Ray, and Fluoroscopy/OR imaging as needed
- Participate in departmental initiatives and outreach for mammography services
- Take call assignments as scheduled and assist with other duties as necessary
Physical and Work Requirements:
- Stand and walk 46 hours per shift, with ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Frequent bending, reaching, crouching, pushing equipment
- Exposure to patient care environments and potential infectious agents
