Requirements:
- ARRT registration in both Radiography and Mammography
- Valid California Radiologic Technologist License
- California Mammographic Technologist License
- California Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist License
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
- California Venipuncture Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in mammography
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time position
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a full range of screening and diagnostic mammography exams according to established protocols
- Guarantee optimal image quality while strictly adhering to ALARA radiation safety principles
- Coordinate exams and review orders with radiologists and fellow imaging professionals
- Retrieve and organize prior mammography images for comparative interpretation
- Educate patients on breast health and self-examination practices
- Serve as a technical advisor on breast imaging, quality control, and safe equipment operation
- Coordinate care to minimize patient inconvenience and delays
- Assist with bone density, CT, general X-ray, and fluoroscopic procedures as needed
- Participate in committee work and promote mammography services through community outreach
- Participate in call schedule as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Capable of standing and walking for 4-6 hours per day
- Must be able to bend, reach, crouch, balance, and move equipment
- Lift up to 35 pounds, and safely provide care to patients across the lifespan
- Possible exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and chemical agents
