Job Description

This traveling Imaging - IR Technologist role offers an opportunity to work at a Level III Trauma Center with a comprehensive cardiac service specializing in interventional radiology. The position is based in Waukesha, WI, within a facility recognized for Magnet designation and comprehensive stroke care, supporting a high patient volume with advanced technological resources.

Location Overview: Located near Milwaukee, WI, this facility is a 933-bed hospital equipped with Level III NICU and advanced stroke care programs. The region offers a blend of urban and suburban living, with access to cultural attractions, outdoor activities, and a welcoming community atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures including kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, central lines/PICCs/ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, among others.
  • Support neuro IR cases such as stroke embolization, DSA, and WADA tests.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including lead techs, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and CNAs.
  • Function effectively during 24/7 department operation and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Utilize Siemens and GE imaging equipment and EPIC EMR system.
  • Maintain proficiency in scrubbing and panning simultaneously during procedures.
  • Preferably assist with charging and coding for procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current RT(R) certification by ARRT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Valid Wisconsin state license.
  • Minimum 1 year of IR experience required; first-time travelers with IR experience welcome.
  • Experience with EPIC and Siemens/GE equipment preferred.
  • Comfort with fast-paced patient volume (40-50 patients daily).
  • Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes.

Schedule:

  • Weekend and weekday call rotation required (MondayThursday and every 5th weekend).
  • Flexible shift options, with manager willingness to accommodate shift preferences such as four 10-hour or mixed shifts.
  • Weekend and neuro IR call subject to experience.
