Job Description

This contract opportunity is for an experienced Imaging Technologist specializing in Interventional Radiology, based in Richmond, VA. The role is situated within a dynamic Interventional Radiology unit, equipped with state-of-the-art Discovery 740 IGS technology, and supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include performing a variety of imaging procedures such as biopsies, drain insertions, angiograms, peripheral vascular imaging, paracenteses, thoracentesis, and assisting with additional imaging services including CT coronary, MRI monitoring, and myelograms. Support in line placements is also required, with no requirement for scrubbing in cases. The position demands a high level of procedural expertise and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Critical Care experience is essential.
  • Experience in procedural areas with moderate sedation.
  • Preferred certifications or skills: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and familiarity with Meditech Electronic Medical Records.
  • Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • A professional, outgoing, self-motivated, and team-oriented personality with a positive attitude.

Schedule and On-Call:

  • Day shift staffing includes 3-4 technologists and 3-4 nurses.
  • Call responsibilities approximate 1-2 nights per week and one weekend every 4-5 weeks.

The facility provides scrubs and maintains a professional dress code. The Interventional Radiology unit is a well-supported environment with ten staff members providing comprehensive patient care.
