Job Description
This role is ideal for an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with a strong critical care background and procedural area expertise. Located in Richmond, VA, this contract position offers an opportunity to work with advanced imaging equipment in a dynamic clinical setting focused on multiple interventional radiology procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized imaging procedures including biopsies, drain insertions, angiograms, peripheral vascular studies, paracenteses, thoracentesis, and line placements
- Assist with imaging needs such as CT coronary scans, MRI monitoring, and myelograms
- Collaborate closely with RNs and other staff, though RN-level scrubbing is not required
- Maintain patient safety during moderate sedation cases within the interventional radiology unit
- Utilize Meditech EMR system to document and monitor patient information and procedure details
- Participate in on-call rotation (1-2 nights per week, with one weekend call every 4-5 weekends)
Qualifications:
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Critical Care and Procedural Area experience essential
- Moderate sedation experience preferred
- PALS certification and Meditech EMR knowledge highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with a positive, team-oriented attitude
Schedule and Environment:
- Day shifts with a team of 3-4 technologists and 3-4 RNs
- On-call responsibilities as outlined above
- Scrub attire provided and required
- Work primarily on the first floor of the main building equipped with Discovery 740 IGS technology
