Job Description
Located in Pittsford, NY, this contract opportunity seeks a skilled Interventional Radiology Technician committed to producing high-quality diagnostic images and delivering compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical competence, teamwork, and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients and assist Radiologists during Interventional Radiology procedures.
- Select appropriate exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce diagnostic-quality images.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, promptly reporting malfunctions.
- Complete procedures efficiently while supporting departmental workflows such as room turnover and assisting colleagues.
- Maintain medication security and uphold patient rights in all interactions.
- Utilize Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Respond professionally to technical inquiries from physicians and hospital staff.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current NYS Radiologic Technologist License or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Interventional Radiology.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Certification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR) is preferred.
