Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab. This contract role is located in New Berlin, WI, within a Level III Trauma Center that also features a Level III NICU, Magnet Designation, and Comprehensive Stroke Center status. The facility operates 15 labs including Cath Lab, EP, and Hybrid, with the traveler primarily assigned to one of the 11 dedicated Cath Labs.

The role demands managing complex adult cases ranging from diagnostic and interventional procedures to advanced therapies including STEMI/NSTEMI interventions, valvuloplasty, biopsies, and use of devices such as IABP and Impella. Hybrid lab experience is a plus but not required. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:1 to ensure high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support diagnostics and interventional cath lab and peripheral cases
  • Perform conscious sedation and manage drips if RN
  • Scrub, pan, and assist during procedures if RTR
  • Collaborate closely with staff to maintain room readiness and supply management
  • Utilize EPIC charting and operate specialized equipment like GE C-arms and Maquet IABP

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Cath Lab experience
  • RN candidates must hold BLS, ACLS certifications; NIHSS preferred
  • RTR candidates require BLS, ACLS, Wisconsin license; RCIS certification preferred
  • Ability to work 8 or 12-hour shifts, including weekend rotations and occasional on-call duties
  • Familiarity with high-acuity, emergency cardiac cases strongly preferred

Work Schedule:

  • 8 or 12-hour shifts available with flexible scheduling options
  • Weekend rotation and on-call shifts approximately every 23 months
  • Adherence to strict fatigue policies limiting work hours and consecutive shifts
