Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech)
- Registered by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or equivalent
- Valid state licensure as required for radiology practice
- Strong technical knowledge of interventional radiology equipment and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to follow physician instructions accurately and ensure patient safety
- Proven record of maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality and care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork
Schedule/Hours:
- Shifts and hours to be discussed; flexibility may be required based on department needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot imaging equipment according to procedural requirements
- Assist interventional radiologists during procedures by anticipating needs and responding promptly to instructions
- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols and hospital policies
- Accurately document patient information, imaging results, and maintain detailed records
- Support and educate patients, addressing any concerns or questions before, during, and after procedures
- Contribute to team meetings, quality assurance initiatives, and department goals
