Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Imaging - IR Technologist to contribute expertise in a dynamic interventional radiology department. This travel position is located in Brookfield, WI, supporting an esteemed Level III Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke program and a 933-bed capacity. The facility is Magnet-designated, featuring a Level III NICU and delivering high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities include performing a wide spectrum of General and Neuro IR procedures for adult patients, including kyphoplasty, central lines, fistulograms, coil embolizations, strokes, and embolizations. The department operates 24/7 with five procedure rooms, managing 40-50 cases daily on average. The role requires proficiency in scrubbing and panning simultaneously and familiarity with Siemens and GE imaging equipment. Neuro IR experience is preferred but not mandatory. Technologists will work closely with a supportive team including coordinators, lead techs, tech specialists, and respiratory therapists.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Technologist (Radiography, RT(R)) with ARRT certification
  • Current BLS certification and valid Wisconsin state licensure
  • Minimum one year of IR experience; first-time travelers with IR experience are welcome
  • Comfortable with a range of General IR interventions; charging/coding experience a plus but not required
  • Willingness to fulfill on-call duties with a 30-minute response time; weekend and weekday call rotations apply
  • Ability to adapt to flexible shift schedules, with potential for customized shift lengths

Scheduling & Orientation:

  • Orientation includes 1-2 weeks preceptorship with direct supervision
  • Call schedule: weekday call once per week; weekend call once every fifth weekend
  • Shift times vary by call type and can be adjusted (e.g., four 10-hour shifts or two 12-hour shifts)
