Job Description
An Interventional Radiology Technologist role is available at a high-acuity cardiovascular center in Brookfield, WI. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced cardiac catheterization lab performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures. The assignment is on a contract basis with flexible shift options, including 8 and 12-hour shifts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years IR tech or cardiac cath lab experience
- Skilled in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures such as RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI cases, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, and Impella
- Preferred experience with hybrid cases including TAVRs, Watchman, and vascular grafts
- Proficient with scrubbing and panning in the cath lab environment
- Current BLS, ACLS certifications; WI state license required
- RCIS certification preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with adult cardiac cath lab diagnostic and interventional cases (24-40 cases daily)
- Manage peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Support procedures involving conscious sedation and medication titration (if RN)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, RT, and critical care staff
- Follow established fatigue and safety policies ensuring high-quality patient care
Work Schedule and Environment:
- 8 or 12-hour shifts available with potential weekend rotations
- On-call duties approximately every 2-3 months with a 30-minute response time
- Orientation provided for about one week to familiarize with systems like EPIC, Alaris, and advanced imaging equipment
