Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography; additional certification in Interventional Radiology preferred
- Valid and current state license as required
- Experience performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures in an acute care or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of imaging protocols, fluoroscopy, and patient positioning techniques
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining imaging equipment and contrast agents with meticulous attention to safety standards
- Effective communication and patient care skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a high-paced environment
- BLS certification (current and valid)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and proper technique
- Operate imaging equipment to create images used for diagnosis and therapeutic interventions
- Assist radiologists and physicians during procedures by anticipating needs and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions, and provide immediate assistance when necessary
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting procedure details and observations
- Uphold stringent safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions promptly
