Seeking a skilled EP Tech to join a dynamic electrophysiology team in Mooresville, NC. This contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to a Level I Trauma teaching hospital known for advanced cardiac care, including a Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, and Magnet designation. With four EP labs running Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and three labs on Wednesday, this role supports adult patients undergoing complex electrophysiology procedures and device implantations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and assist with electrophysiology studies (EPS), catheter ablations (including PFA, radiofrequency, cryoablations), and Watchman atrial fibrillation procedures.
- Support implantable device procedures including pacemakers, defibrillators, biventricular devices, leadless devices (Micra, Aveir), laser lead extractions, and cardioversions.
- Maintain meticulous documentation using EPIC for pre/post procedure records.
- Manage conscious sedation and vasoactive medications as needed.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including VAD, ECMO, RT, and Code teams.
- Utilize advanced technology such as Philips monitors, GE and Siemens imaging, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years EP Lab experience preferred.
- For RNs: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications, EPIC charting expertise, and competency in conscious sedation management.
- For Cardiac Cath Techs: BLS and ACLS certifications; ARRT-R, RCIS, or equivalent required; RCES preferred. EP/structural scrub experience mandatory, case monitoring experience preferred.
- Ability to function independently after a structured orientation period.
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week, typically 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Weekend on-call rotation and at least one holiday shift required during contract.
- Shift scheduling operates on a six-week cycle with manager approval for time off.
