Job Description
Join a leading medical center as an Electrophysiology (EP) Technician in Gastonia, NC, supporting advanced cardiac care in a Level I Trauma, Magnet Designated teaching hospital. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of adult EP cases including electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, device implantations, and complex lead extractions in a state-of-the-art environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and assist with EP procedures such as EPS, PFA, radiofrequency and cryoablations, and cardioversions
- Support implantations of pacemakers, defibrillators, biventricular devices, and leadless devices
- Utilize advanced equipment including Philips monitoring systems, GE and Siemens X-ray technologies, and Cardio Lab hemodynamic monitors
- Document care accurately within EPIC EMR and manage pre/post-procedure protocols
- Collaborate closely with nursing, VAD, ECMO, and code teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Participate in weekend call rotations and holiday coverage as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years EP lab experience required; first-time travelers considered
- Cardiac Cath Techs must hold BLS, ACLS certification plus ARRT-R or equivalent, RCIS required, RCES preferred
- RNs require BLS, ACLS with EP lab experience and proficiency in EPIC charting and sedation management
- Strong skills in EP/structural scrubbing and case monitoring preferred
Schedule & Location:
- Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, 0630-1700, typically Monday through Thursday or Friday with a 6-week cycle
- Weekend call rotation and some holiday work expected
- Free parking available on-site
