Job Description

A contracting opportunity is available for a skilled cardiac sonographer specializing in echocardiography to support a medical center located in Olathe, KS. This role involves performing a wide range of echocardiographic procedures using advanced equipment, contributing to both inpatient and outpatient cardiac care, including emergency settings and specialized labs such as the OR, cath lab, and EP lab.

Key responsibilities include conducting resting and stress echoes primarily with GE Vivid E95 systems and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) with Philips CVX machines. Participation in an initial two-day orientation followed by a facility-specific orientation is required. On-call duty is limited to one night per week, with no weekend work necessary.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum four years of cardiac ultrasound clinical experience as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer
  • Performance of at least 4,000 echocardiograms
  • Certification as RCS-CCI or RDCS-ARDMS, with BLS certification
  • Preferred education includes graduation from an accredited cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography program or a health science academic program (cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing)
  • Training or certification in IV and UEA contrast administration is advantageous
  • Neonatal echo experience is a plus but not required

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • One night on-call per week
  • Holidays are generally not required; pay adjustments apply if holidays coincide with scheduled days
