Job Description

This opportunity seeks an experienced Echocardiography Technologist skilled in performing comprehensive diagnostic echo procedures independently and supporting cardiologists with accuracy and professionalism. The position is contract-based and located in Deville, LA, offering Monday through Friday day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend rotations and on-call duties occur approximately every fifth week, providing predictable scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine transthoracic echocardiograms to assess cardiac function and identify possible abnormalities.
  • Assist physicians during transesophageal echocardiograms and perform stress echocardiograms to evaluate coronary artery disease.
  • Communicate results promptly for physician interpretation and ensure availability of necessary supplies.
  • Adjust patient care approaches to meet age-specific and developmental needs, including occasional pediatric telemedicine cases.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational core values and participate in team-building initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the echocardiography service line.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the cardiology field desirable.
  • Experience with stress testing favored.
  • Current BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Certification required: DCS, RCS, or RDMS through ARDMS or CCI.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM4:30 PM).
  • Rotating weekends and on-call responsibilities every 5th week.
