An opportunity to apply advanced skills in computerized tomography (CT) is available for a contract position in Elk Grove Village, IL. This role involves performing CT procedures to assist in diagnosing disease and injury, adhering to established radiologist protocols. The position requires thorough preparation and positioning of patients, accurate selection of anatomical and technical parameters, and the safe administration of contrast media or medications within regulatory guidelines. Maintaining patient safety and comfort while monitoring for any abnormal activity during procedures is essential, alongside recommending updates to scanning protocols and adhering strictly to radiation safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct CT imaging procedures according to radiologist-established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients correctly for imaging.
• Select and adjust anatomic and technical parameters with precision.
• Administer contrast media and/or medications following state and federal regulations.
• Monitor and observe patients throughout procedures, reporting any abnormalities.
• Evaluate and suggest improvements to CT protocols.
• Comply with radiation safety guidelines during all procedures.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Radiologic Technologist credential from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
• One or more of the following certifications prior to start: Nuclear Medical Technologist credential from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Computed Tomography Specialty Certification from NMTCB(CT) or ARRT(CT). Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT). Radiologic Technologist credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) specializing in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, or Computed Tomography.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross obtained within 30 days of hire.
