Job Description
Perform advanced computerized tomographic (CT) imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury, following protocols set by radiologists. This contract opportunity is based in the Chicago metropolitan area, offering a dynamic setting to apply your specialized CT skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute CT scans accurately, preparing and positioning patients with attention to anatomic and technical parameters.
- Administer contrast media and medications as permitted within your licensed scope and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and report any unusual activity promptly.
- Evaluate and suggest improvements to imaging protocols to enhance patient care.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards and departmental guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Radiologic Technologist credential from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
- Certification in CT imaging such as NMTCB(CT) or ARRT(CT) is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications in Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy are advantageous but not required.
- Proven experience performing CT imaging procedures in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
