Job Description

Operate advanced CT imaging equipment under general supervision to acquire diagnostic images essential for patient care at a leading healthcare institution. This contract position requires flexibility to rotate among various radiology clinics and divisions within the system to support diverse patient needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring comfort, safety, and use of protective shielding as needed.
  • Operate CT scanner, power injector, laser printer, and patient monitoring devices according to established protocols.
  • Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Calibrate and verify proper functioning of imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Execute Radiology Information System tasks including scheduling, documenting exams, and transferring images to PACS.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, respecting confidentiality and professional standards.
  • Participate in continuing education, staff meetings, and quality improvement projects.
  • Assist and instruct radiology students and other personnel as assigned.
  • Assume flexible shift coverage, including on-call duties and overtime as needed.
  • Transport and transfer patients per departmental protocols.
  • Adapt independently to varied clinical situations, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology and CT (cross-sectional anatomy) required and maintained.
  • Minimum 2-3 years radiologic technologist experience preferred, with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills to manage patients experiencing physical or emotional stress.
  • Strong analytical abilities related to imaging procedures and anatomy.
