Job Description

A healthcare role is available in Boston, MA seeking an experienced CT Technologist with Level 1 trauma and Siemens scanner expertise. This contract position requires operation of advanced CT imaging equipment under general supervision to acquire high-quality diagnostic images that assist physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment. The role demands flexibility to float among radiology clinics and divisions within the healthcare system as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CT scanners, Power Injectors, and related imaging devices following established protocols.
  • Prepare, position, and immobilize patients appropriately while ensuring their safety using protective shielding.
  • Explain procedures to patients with empathy, respecting their physical and emotional needs.
  • Calibrate and verify all CT equipment daily and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist guidance, adhering strictly to contrast policies.
  • Manage Radiology Information System tasks including scheduling, exam completion, and transferring images to PACS.
  • Maintain compliance with Massachusetts State Licensure and ARRT continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and assist with department research initiatives.
  • Provide on-call coverage and adapt to variable shift schedules, including overtime as necessary.
  • Transport patients safely according to departmental protocols.
  • Supervise and instruct students and junior personnel as needed.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license and ARRT registration.
  • ARRT CT certification required and must be maintained.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of radiologic technologist experience, with at least one year focused on cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support patients under stress.
  • Analytical aptitude for mastering imaging processes and anatomy.
