Job Description
This opportunity is seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine imaging, with 1-2 years of PET/PETCT experience. The role is based in Ayden, NC, offering a contract position focused on providing exceptional patient care and producing high-quality diagnostic images. Note, CT certification is not required as diagnostic CT imaging is not performed on the PET scanners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient safety through pre-screening, aseptic injection techniques, and compliance with radiation safety regulations.
- Produce accurate, diagnostic-quality PET/CT images by interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate imaging parameters.
- Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and team members to facilitate smooth imaging procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to new technologists and patient care staff.
- Troubleshoot and maintain imaging equipment, including scanners, mobile coaches, monitors, PACS, and coils.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB or ARRT RT-N) with valid state licensure.
- CPR/AHA BLS certification.
- Valid drivers license, with local travel as needed.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience performing PET/PETCT imaging and nuclear medicine procedures.
