Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Imaging Cath Lab Technician to support cardiac catheterization procedures at a prominent medical center located in Richmond, TX. This contract position offers the chance to work on the 1st floor within a main building housing two procedure rooms and a dedicated team of clinical professionals.

Responsibilities include assisting with a variety of cardiac and vascular procedures such as left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker/ICD implantations, Watchman device placements, interventional radiology procedures, vascular interventions, and electrophysiology ablations. You will collaborate closely with registered nurses and fellow cath lab technologists to ensure patient safety and procedure efficiency, utilizing Philips and Siemens fluoroscopy equipment and documenting with MERGE Hemo and Meditech systems.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Experience in cardiac catheterization lab procedures
  • Electrophysiology experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to function as a flexible team player in a dynamic clinical environment

Work Schedule:

  • Day shift with a staffing mix of 1 supervisor, 4 RNs, and 2 Cath Lab Techs
  • Night shift coverage is on-call with 2 RNs and 1-2 Cath Lab Techs
  • Scheduled to work one full weekend plus two weekdays per 10-shift cycle, including on-call responsibilities

Additional Information:

  • Dress code includes hospital-provided sky blue scrubs
  • Procedural adherence to universal precautions, moderated sedation, and timeout protocols is required
  • Floating duties may include assignments in pre- and post-cath departments
