A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Imaging Cath Lab Technician with a strong background in Electrophysiology (EP) to support advanced cardiac procedures. This contract role is based in Des Plaines, IL, within a state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab unit featuring four procedure rooms and 15 prep/recovery bays, maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio for focused, patient-centered care. Scrubs are conveniently provided onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians by scrubbing during a variety of complex procedures, including structural heart interventions, coronary, peripheral vascular, and EP procedures
- Prepare and maintain cath lab equipment and ensure adherence to sterile techniques
- Support procedure workflow to promote safety and efficiency within the cardiac cath lab
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of Cath Lab experience with a strong focus on Electrophysiology (EP)
- Proficient with pacemaker and Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) procedures
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred
- Skilled in scrubbing and assisting during structural heart and complex coronary/peripheral interventions
- Active Illinois state license (IEMA), BLS, and ARRT certifications required
- Highly preferred: ACLS certification and EPIC electronic health record experience, though not mandatory
