A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Cath Lab Technologist to support an active cardiac catheterization lab in Arlington, VA. This role is a 13-week contract position with a schedule designed for focused clinical practice. Ideal candidates bring comprehensive expertise in left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, and advanced device support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and assist with complex cardiac procedures including LHC, LHC PCI, RHC, peripherals interventions, Impella insertions, balloon pump operations, and rotational atherectomy.
- Support electrophysiology procedures such as cardioversion and ablations.
- Operate monitoring equipment, including EKG setup, vitals collection, and rhythm interpretation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide efficient patient care throughout daily caseloads of 25-30 cases.
- Maintain compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols in a fast-paced, four-lab environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RCIS certification or ARRT credential with valid state licensure for Virginia (temporary licensure process available).
- Proven cath lab skills including scrubbing, monitoring, and EKG expertise.
- Experience with cardiac procedures: balloon angioplasty, stenting, thrombectomy, and device placements like pacemakers and Impella.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Preferred skills include circulating, IV start, phlebotomy, Watchman procedures, septal closure, and use of EPIC software.
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour daytime shifts per week (7:00 AM 5:30 PM).
- On-call rotations 2-3 shifts weekly, including 1-2 weekends every six weeks.
