Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) Myrtle Beach, SC

A rewarding opportunity exists for an experienced Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care in home and residential settings throughout the Myrtle Beach area. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on patients and families during their most vulnerable moments.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized hospice care plans
  • Deliver skilled nursing care focused on symptom management, pain relief, and patient comfort
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospice protocols
  • Monitor patient status, promptly reporting changes to the medical director and care team
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease progression, comfort measures, and medication administration
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members, including social workers, chaplains, and aides
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Home Care Home Base (HCHB)
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement activities
  • Comply with all hospice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in good standing for the state of South Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year recent hospice nursing experience required
  • Proficiency with Home Care Home Base (HCHB) electronic documentation
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of pain management and end-of-life care principles
  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and auto insurance
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based nursing role
  • Compassionate and emotionally resilient personality

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Experience in palliative or end-of-life care settings
  • Familiarity with Medicare hospice regulations and documentation standards

Schedule & Contract Details:

  • Full-time, 13-week contract assignment
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional weekends or on-call rotations
  • Caseload of approximately 45 patient visits per day
  • Mileage reimbursement provided for travel within the assigned service area
