Job Description
Provide specialized psychiatric care as a Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient behavioral health setting located in Milwaukee, WI. This 13-week contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with an interdisciplinary treatment team and support individuals receiving community-based mental health services. Position Details
- Location: Milwaukee, WI
- Schedule: 16 hours per week (2 eight-hour shifts)
- Required Day: Thursday
- Additional Day: Flexible
- Hours: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (paid lunch)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Target Start Date: April 16
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations following initial assessments by the supervising Psychiatrist
- Perform intake assessments and provide ongoing psychiatric follow-up care
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medication treatment plans
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and the broader treatment team
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and staff meetings
- Order lab work, diagnostic tests, or procedures as necessary
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of evaluations and treatment plans
- Provide clinical consultation and support during planned interventions
- Apply evidence-based approaches such as motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care
Qualifications and Experience
- Active Nurse Practitioner license
- DEA license
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber
- Ability to pass caregiver background screening
- Psychiatric experience preferred (1+ year ideal but not required)
