Job Description

Position: TVI | Teacher of the Visually Impaired 

Location: Lake Stickney, WA

Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments, in collaboration with other members of the educational team.
  • Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, adaptive technology, orientation and mobility skills, and activities of daily living to students with visual impairments.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress, adjust instructional strategies as needed, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
  • Valid Washington State teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Knowledge of braille, adaptive technology, and specialized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments.
