Job Description

Position: TVI | Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Location: Lake Stickney, WA

Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments, in collaboration with other members of the educational team.
Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, adaptive technology, orientation and mobility skills, and activities of daily living to students with visual impairments.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress, adjust instructional strategies as needed, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
Valid Washington State teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
Knowledge of braille, adaptive technology, and specialized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments.
