Position: Epidemiologist III - STI Program Coordinator

Organization: Sunbelt Staffing

Type: W2 Contract

Location: Chicago, IL

Term: Contract ends July 31, 2024

Schedule: 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (flexible as per facility requirements)

Job Overview: Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a seasoned Epidemiologist III to join our client's team in Chicago, IL. This role entails spearheading the STI Program, overseeing data analysis, survey design, and pinpointing causes and risk factors related to HIV/STI morbidity. The successful candidate will be instrumental in tracking epidemiological data, suggesting interventions, and aiding in disease control efforts in the Chicago area.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the STI Program, managing data analysis and interpretation.
  • Design surveys to collect epidemiological data and conduct specialized studies when necessary.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on epidemiological investigations, utilizing tables, graphs, and data summaries.
  • Contribute to grant goal setting and achievement.
  • Utilize statistical software such as SAS or R for data analysis, and present findings through oral and written means, including data visualizations.
  • Develop, distribute, and follow up on monthly data and programmatic quality assurance reports.
  • Participate in meetings and response activities, including the on-call system, and assist with other projects as required.
  • Foster collaboration with other departments to establish and maintain shared databases on health-related matters.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 4 years of experience in epidemiological and statistical analysis work.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Proficiency in statistical computer software packages and applications.
  • Sound understanding of epidemiological research methodologies and analytical practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines, medical terminology, and human development and disease theory.
  • Basic knowledge of public health care trends, issues, programs, and services, including medical conditions, treatments, standards, and procedures.
