Step into a crucial role supporting behavioral health care as a Certified Nursing Assistant on a 26-week assignment in a secure psychiatric hospital setting. This contract position involves working with patients experiencing mental health challenges, providing direct assistance, and helping to maintain a therapeutic environment.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Day (7:00 AM 3:00 PM), Evening (3:00 PM 11:00 PM), and Night (11:00 PM 7:00 AM) shifts available
• Overtime may be offered based on facility need

Qualifications:

• Active CNA certification required
• At least 1-2 years of previous contract work experience
• Must meet one of the following criteria:
  • A minimum of 2 years direct experience in mental health settings (such as state hospitals or psychiatric facilities)
  • If your background is in geriatric care (long-term care, hospice, or nursing homes), at least 5 years experience in such settings
  • For candidates from emergency or urgent care settings, at least 4 years of relevant experience

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with daily living activities including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meals
• Observe and document patient behaviors, moods, and safety issues
• Support therapeutic groups and structured activities under nursing guidance
• Uphold safety standards following behavioral health protocols
• Aid with admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients
• Communicate patient updates with the interdisciplinary care team
• Adhere strictly to confidentiality, infection control, and facility safety policies
