Make a meaningful impact supporting students educational journeys as an Assistive Technology Specialist in a contract role near Norco, CA. Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification in assistive technology required
- One or more of the following backgrounds: SLP-CCC, Teacher (Special Education or related), SLP (school setting), Occupational Therapist (school-based)
- Previous experience supporting students with diverse learning needs strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assistive technology evaluations and recommendations for student individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Train staff, families, and students on device usage and integration into the classroom
- Collaborate closely with SLPs, special education teachers, and OTs to develop and implement effective strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of student progress and device utilization
- Support a caseload of students across a range of ages and abilities
- Stay current with best practices and emerging technology in the assistive technology field
