Job Description
This contract role for an Assistive Technology Specialist is based in Norco, CA, serving a school environment with a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week over five days. The position focuses on supporting students through specialized technologies aimed at enhancing learning and communication.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Assistive Technology certification required
- Experience or credentials as SLP - CCC, SLP - School, OT - School, Special Education Teacher, or similar educational roles preferred
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and implementing assistive technology solutions tailored to student needs
- Collaborating with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, special education teachers, and other staff to integrate technology into individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Training educators and students on the use of assistive devices and software
- Monitoring progress and adapting technology strategies as necessary
- Maintaining thorough documentation and communication with the educational team
While caseload specifics and age groups are determined upon placement, you will work directly with students requiring assistive technology support to improve their academic performance and classroom engagement.
