Job Description
Step into an impactful role as an Assistive Technology Specialist and help empower students to reach their fullest potential. This contract opportunity spans 40 hours per week across five days, supporting a diverse caseload and collaborating with a dynamic team of fellow professionals, including Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP-CCC), special education teachers, and occupational therapists.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid assistive technology certification
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams such as SLPs, OTs, and special educators
- Expertise in evaluating, selecting, and implementing assistive technology in school environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to train and support teachers and service providers in integrating assistive technology
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation related to AT
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and recommend appropriate assistive technology tools and strategies
- Customize and support AT device implementation for individual and small groups of students
- Collaborate with educators and therapy professionals to integrate technology into instruction and therapy plans
- Provide ongoing training to staff, students, and families on device usage and best practices
- Maintain accurate records, including documentation of services and progress monitoring
- Stay current with trends and updates in assistive technology and special education
