- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and monitoring to ensure technology is used effectively
- Stay current on the latest developments and best practices in assistive technology for educational settings
- Document evaluations, interventions, and student progress according to guidelines
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, participating in IEP meetings and goal setting
- Advocate for accessible learning environments that foster student independence
Ideal candidates will have:
- Prior experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist or related role in an educational or therapeutic setting
- Strong knowledge of assistive hardware and software, including communication devices and accessibility tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, administrators, and families
- Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills
- Background in special education, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, or a related field preferred
- Relevant certification or advanced training in assistive technology is a plus
