Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students with diverse learning needs as an Assistive Technology Specialist. This onsite position offers the chance to work across multiple educational sites, providing expertise in assistive technology and empowering staff through device training and support. With an immediate start date and a consistent 40-hour workweek, youll play a vital role in enhancing educational accessibility for students in special education environments.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid California state license relevant to Assistive Technology Specialist or Special Education Teacher roles (CA License required)
- Strong background in special education, assistive technology, or a related discipline
- Previous experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting assistive technology devices in K-12 settings
- Skilled at training educators and staff on the effective use of AT devices and software
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to travel between multiple educational sites as needed
Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and recommend appropriate assistive technology solutions to support learning and participation
- Conduct individualized and group trainings for staff on the use of assistive technology devices and applications
- Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and administrators to develop and implement tailored AT strategies
- Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and device maintenance
- Monitor and document student progress with AT interventions, making adjustments as needed
- Ensure compliance with state and district requirements regarding assistive technology
