Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Assistive Technology, or a related field
- Experience working with a wide range of assistive technology devices and software
- Strong knowledge of best practices in accessibility and universal design for learning
- Ability to conduct assessments and recommend effective technology solutions for students with diverse needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Flexibility and creativity in problem-solving
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs through direct observation, consultation, and evaluations to determine appropriate assistive technology tools
- Train students, educators, and family members on the use and integration of assistive technology devices and applications
- Develop and update individualized plans with recommendations for technology supports
- Monitor student progress and adjust supports as needed to maximize access and participation
- Maintain thorough documentation and provide ongoing technical support for selected devices and software
- Stay current with advances in assistive technology and share knowledge with school teams
