Job Description

This contract position offers an opportunity to serve as an Assistive Technology Specialist in a K-12 school located in Anaheim, CA. The role focuses on supporting students with special needs by integrating assistive technology tools to enhance their learning experiences.

Responsibilities include assessing, implementing, and maintaining assistive technology devices and strategies for students on your caseload. Collaboration with speech-language pathologists (SLP), special education teachers, occupational therapists (OT), and other educational staff is essential to tailor interventions and ensure effective use of technology to meet individual student needs. You will manage a caseload of students, provide training and support to staff and families, and assist in developing individualized education programs (IEPs) that incorporate assistive technology solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Assistive Technology Specialist certification required
  • Experience working in special education, preferably with knowledge of SLP, OT, or teaching students with diverse educational needs
  • Strong ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of current assistive technology devices and software in educational settings
  • Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to supporting K-12 students with special needs

Position Details:

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week
  • Setting: K-12 public school environment
  • Duration: Current School Year (CSY) contract
