Responsibilities:

2. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to facilitate skill acquisition and behavior management in various settings within the school, such as classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.
3. Use positive reinforcement techniques and other evidence-based strategies to encourage desired behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
4. Collect data on student progress and behavior using designated methods and tools, and assist in analyzing this data to inform intervention strategies.
5. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure consistency in implementing behavior support strategies across different environments and situations.
6. Support students during transitions between activities and environments, providing guidance and reinforcement as needed.
7. Assist in the development of individualized educational and behavioral goals based on student needs and assessments.
8. Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to ethical guidelines outlined by relevant professional organizations.
9. Communicate effectively with parents or caregivers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for generalization of skills beyond the school setting.
10. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in behavior analysis and interventions.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
2. Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
3. Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or behavioral settings, preferably using applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
5. Ability to follow directions, work independently, and adapt to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
6. Knowledge of principles and techniques of applied behavior analysis and behavior management strategies.
7. Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data to monitor student progress and inform intervention decisions.
8. Understanding of ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines related to working with students with special needs.
9. CPR and first aid certification may be required depending on school or district policies.
10. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the field of applied behavior analysis and special education.
