SPLAs perform specific tasks assigned to them under a SLP. A supervising SLP will determine goals and objectives for the SLPA to address, within their scope of practice. Responsibilities for SLPAs are more limited in comparison to SLPs in the sense that they implement the treatment plan that has been defined by a SLP.
