Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job in Charlotte, NC

Sunbelt is in need of a part time Orientation and Mobility Specialist for this job opportunity in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. It starts ASAP and will last for the rest of this school year. This school needs an O&M to work with a VI student once a week. The student already has someone providing braille services so this person's main duties would be helping the student get orientated with the environment and layout of the school.

Services would be once a week, for 1 hour (30 mins in class, 30 mins outside of the classroom) for the rest of the school year. The candidate will be required to write detailed progress notes, and collaborate with and aid the other school staff as they don't have a lot of experience working with VI students. They are flexible on schedule. 

Certification in Orientation and Mobility is required- ACVREP COMS

Must be comfortable coming on-site (masks and daily temp checks are required) and have strong communication skills and be able to assist teachers with new strategies.
