American Sign Language Teacher (Contract)

Job Description: We are urgently hiring an American Sign Language Teacher to provide educational instruction to our students for the upcoming school year. As the ASL Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing students in sign language and providing them the guidance and structure they need to understand educational lessons. 


  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to teach ASL to students of varying skill levels, including beginners and advanced learners.
  • Assist in teaching students other subjects such as math and science 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching strategies and stay up-to-date with ASL language advancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and overall performance.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure a supportive learning environment.


  • Bachelors degree
  • DESE Certification
  • Massachusetts Teacher Certificate
  • Experience working with deaf students
