Job Posting: Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) - 13-week Contract Assignment
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Shift Information:
- Days with holiday, weekend, and on-call rotation
Responsibilities:
- Perform computed tomography procedures and related techniques.
- Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- May be required to alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call.
- Flex hours and overtime as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned site(s).
Key Duties:
- Perform diagnostic CT procedures.
- If assigned radiographer job duties, also perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams.
- Corroborate the patient's clinical history with the procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist.
- Prepare the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories.
- Position the patient to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Practice aseptic technique as necessary.
- Prepare and administer contrast media as appropriate; start and maintain intravenous access.
- Initiate basic life support action when necessary.
- Provide patient education.
- Provide input for supply and equipment decisions; maintain control of inventory and supplies.
- Provide practical instruction for students and partners.
- Observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers.
- Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
- 2 years of CT experience required.
Certification and Licensure:
- ARRT Radiography registration required.
- ARRT Computed Tomography registration required.
- IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required.
- Approved CPR or BLS certification required.
