Qualifications:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified surgical technologist program.
Certifications:
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or an equivalent certifying body.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a surgical technologist preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
- 2 years experience in a hospital setting.
Skills:
- Proficiency in surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:

Surgical Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including sterilizing equipment, arranging surgical instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Patient Care: Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and prepping the surgical site while maintaining strict sterile technique.
Surgical Instrumentation: Hand surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon and surgical team during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring a smooth flow of the surgery.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain surgical equipment, such as sterilizers and lights, and troubleshoot any technical issues as they arise.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all surgical procedures, instrument counts, and patient data, adhering to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
